Everthing I do begins with a drawing, in my sketch book or on paper in the studio. Images from the natural world, lists of words, poems, lines from a song can be the impetous to get started. I play with an idea, an image until I sense that it could develope further. The idea could then be interpreted in charcoal or paint, or visualised by ripping and tearing hand made papers, a satisfying experience. This may develope further into 3D metal, wood or glass.

Works on paper can vary in size from A4 to 75x40cms. Work on canvas vary from A2 to 75x160cms.
